The School Day

Our classroom doors open at 8.45am, with children having a fifteen-minute window in which to arrive. Morning registers are taken at 9.00am, starting the morning session which runs until 11.45-12 noon. The afternoon session begins at 1.00pm-1.15pm, lasting until pick-up time at 3.15pm.

Teachers are available in the playground between 8.45am and 9.00am for minor queries and information sharing.

School is open for compulsory attendance 6.5 hours a day and a total of 32.5 hours a week.

Attendance

It is important that children get to school on time as a late start can be unsettling for them. We ask that, if parents know their child will be late for school, they let us know. Any child arriving after 9.00am must be brought directly to the School Office.

We understand, however, that occasionally it might be difficult to get your child to school on time. Our pastoral team is available to support you and can offer ideas to help if your child is showing reluctance to come into school. We urge you to bring your child in later, via the School Office, rather than miss a day at school.

Please inform your class teacher or the School Office if anyone different is collecting your child.  Please ensure that they have been given your unique password.

Assemblies

We have a duty to provide a daily act of collective worship.  Each day there is a whole-school, year-group or class assembly, when children can reflect on and explore a range of ideas.  Assemblies are usually held in the school hall.  Class assemblies, organised by the class teacher, are also held when appropriate to a topic.
