North Baddesley Infant School

Growing together, learning for life

A Typical Day

The following graphic shows what a 'typical' day looks like at our Nursery. For more information on the different aspects of our day, please see the page about Our Pedagogy.

Given that we are part of the wider school community, we also have access to school resources, such as the library, and such visits are planned for in addition to what is outlined below.

Breakfast & After-School Provision

To best meet the needs of our community, our Nursery offers wrap-around care in line with that offered by the school, with drop-off and pick-up times matching that of the school's breakfast and after-school club (Treetops).

At breakfast, children can choose items from the following menu:

For children staying beyond the typical school day, we offer a cold tea prepared freshly onsite each day by our school caterers, HC3S. This consists of sandwiches or wraps with a variety of fillings including tuna, cheese and ham, followed by a selection of fruit and a sweet snack.

To help children widen their intake of fruit and vegetables and to learn good habits from an early age, we do not encourage them to bring in snacks from home. Should your child have an identified medical need or dietary requirement, please discuss these with us.

As part of the wider school community, we benefit from the Government's 'School Fruit & Vegetable Scheme', giving children the opportunity to eat a piece of fruit or vegetable every day. Depending on the season, there is a choice of bananas, apples, pears, carrots, tomatoes and easy-peel citrus fruits, such as satsumas.

This is supplemented by our wider snack menu, the cost of which forms part of the 'consumables' charge. Our snack menu includes (but is not limited to) a choice of the following items:

NB: not all items are offered on a single day - we typically offer a choice of two snacks for your child to enjoy.

Our lunches are provided by our school caterers, HC3S. These meals are nutritionally balanced, freshly prepared and refreshed on a regular basis to ensure children have access to a range of healthy foods from which to choose. For the current menu, please click the link below:
