Our School Day
Our classroom doors open between 8:45am-9:00am, for our children to arrive at school. We do prefer all children to arrive for 8:45am where possible. We offer both breakfast and after school provision for those families requiring an extension to the school day.
Registers are taken at 9:00am, starting the morning session which runs until 11:45am/midday. We have a staggered lunchtime to ease the number of children eating lunch in our hall at any one time.
The afternoon session begins at 1:00pm and the school day ends at 3:15pm.
Our teachers, school leaders and pastoral team are available on the playground between 8:45am and 9:00am for minor queries and information sharing. Priority will always be given to greeting the children positively.
School is open for compulsory attendance for 6.25 hours a day and a total of 31.25 hours a week.
Our nursery offers a variety of sessions to work around what is best for individual families.
Parking/Park and Stride/Cycling and Scooting
We encourage all families to walk to school wherever possible. There are several public parking areas close by (please see the map attached below) and families can walk, cycle or scoot from these. A storage area is available on the playground for children's bikes and scooters.
There is a disabled parking bay available in the staff car park which can be accessed at any time during the school day.
Attendance
It is important that children get to school on time as a late start can be unsettling for them. We ask that, if parents know their child will be late for school, they let us know. Any child arriving after 9:00am must be brought directly to the School Office.
We understand, however, that occasionally it might be difficult to get your child to school on time. Our pastoral team is available to support you and can offer ideas to help if your child is showing reluctance to come into school. We urge you to bring your child in later, via the School Office, rather than miss a day at school.
Please inform your class teacher or the School Office if anyone different is collecting your child. Please ensure that they have been given your unique password.
Assemblies
We have a duty to provide a daily act of collective worship. Each day there is a whole-school, year-group or class assembly, when children can reflect on and explore a range of ideas. Assemblies are usually held in the school hall. Class assemblies, organised by the class teacher, are also held when appropriate to a topic.
